What is litigation?

Litigation is the process of resolving disputes between parties. This can be including informal and formal litigation such as explained below:

Informal Litigation - is a process such as letters of demand, cease-and-desist letters, negotiations or simply corresponding between the parties to achieve a resolution of the dispute;

And

Formal Litigation - is a process such as commencing/ enforcing proceedings in the Court with the relevant jurisdiction. Such as Magistrates Court, District Court, Supreme Court, Federal, Court of Appeal or High Court. Or commencing proceedings in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT).
